This project involved the significant change of use and extension of a former educational facility into a modern hospitality environment. The scope of works included a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment, alongside a major vertical extension to increase capacity. As principal contractor, we managed the structural transition from the original building to two new storeys of steel and concrete composite decking, meeting the technical requirements of a high-density urban site.
A key challenge involved building upwards from an existing structure while ensuring the structural integrity of the original foundations. Our team utilised advanced lightweight steel framing and composite decking to manage the additional load efficiently. Despite the logistical demands of the Southgate area, we maintained a rigorous construction schedule and coordinated closely with the design team to ensure the facade and internal layouts were delivered to an exceptional commercial standard.
