This project involved the redevelopment of a prominent site formerly occupied by a post-war police station to create a luxury, refined residential building. Situated in the heart of Clapham Common, the development features 15 high-specification units, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to expansive three-bedroom duplexes. The architectural design draws inspiration from the 19th-century works of George Myers, harmonising with the Edwardian and Victorian heritage of the surrounding Abbeville Road district while providing contemporary living spaces.
The transition from a civic facility to a premium residential environment required an extensive structural programme to deliver a modern reinforced-concrete frame with superior thermal and acoustic performance. Our team managed the full construction lifecycle within a constrained urban footprint, ensuring the sensitive integration of the new structure into the existing historical streetscape. By incorporating energy-efficient building services and high-end internal finishes, the project delivered a sustainable, car-free development that promotes urban connectivity and reflects the aesthetic character of the local heritage.
