Salisbury Hall Gardens
Located in a popular part of South Chingford and within easy reach of all local amenities and transport links. The proposal was to demolish the existing garages and propose the development of a 5 (4×2 bed) including parking for cars and cycles with refuse areas on a redundant lock up garage site situated on Salisbury hall road, Chingford, London.
A carefully considered and well designed front facade by using similar materials to those of the adjoining buildings; extending existing decorative elements and replicate existing features where appropriate, in keeping with the historic and architectural value of the area.
The design intention was to create a residential development of the highest architectural quality, which is to be sympathetic to the adjoining buildings and which respects the composition of the local street scene. It is also intended that the existing site will be enhanced and the proposed development will generate a valuable 5 unit increase in flat stock to this part of Chingford Road and help to reduce housing shortage with adding minimum carbon footprint and with minimum extra effort to build.
Promoting distinctiveness yet keeping in with the general style of properties around and creating a sense of place by using Sand rich render above creasing file feature painted brilliant white with Ibstock red brickwork tile feature to match adjacent properties and grey terracotta Smooth Brindle roof tiles.
